Available Software for Students

ANSYS

As of August 17 2015, ANSYS is now making their ANSYS Student product free of charge. Students may go to http://www.ansys.com/student to download the software and obtain product information and installation help. This free product does not require access to the internet. The license is a renewable six-month license, and the software has the following problem size limits:
  • Structural physics – 32,000 nodes/elements
  • Fluid physics – 512,000 cells/nodes
To coincide with the availability of the free student product, ANSYS retired the ANSYS Student Portal and switched to a revised Academic Product Technical Support Policy that emphasizes self-guided help.
Students may still download ANSYS under the campus license from the Eos software download site at http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/software/downloads/  and connect to the license server via VPN. They will need internet connectivity in this case.
